Before you buy

Flying legally in Kenya

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority regulates drone ownership and operation. Registration and, for commercial work, an operator certificate and remote pilot licence, are handled through KCAA. We will tell you plainly which category your intended use falls into before you commit to a model.

Registration

Drones imported into Kenya are registered with KCAA. We supply the purchase documentation you need for that process.

Recreational vs commercial

Flying for hire or reward has a higher bar than flying for yourself. Tell us which you intend and we will point you at the right requirements.

Where you can fly

Airports, government installations, and some urban areas are restricted. Plan the shot before you buy the drone, not after.
